What does the application form ask?

The form asks a series of basic questions about yourself, followed by five open-ended questions.  Answers to these questions are limited to 250 words, and you must answer all of them.  These questions might be along the lines of:

  • Please give a brief summary of your farming experience
  • Describe your greatest achievements in agriculture/aquaculture or elsewhere in your life so far
  • What are your farming goals for the - short, medium and long term?
  • Why do you want to join the Future Farmer Foundation?
  • What qualities do you have that will allow you to get the most out of the programme?
  • How you will ensure you can commit to the programme?

What happens after I have submitted my application?

We look through all applications in early November.  We then run 3 selection days, where we will invite a short list of applicants to come and meet us.  From this we will then select the final 50.

Should I apply?

The simple answer is YES! Our website and Facebook page has lots and lots of information about the programme, so that's the best place to start.

I am not sure if I am eligible to apply?

At the bottom of this page are the details for who is eligible to apply.  However, if you do have any questions please do give us a ring on 0800 977 4639.
